In honor of Barry,
who introduced me to Rumi via this list serv,

Ray Evans Harrell,
who continues to raise difficult issues gently and with great erudition,

and Richard Karash,
whose fire, around which we sit, warms my life,

I'd like to add this quote of Rumi:

"Human beings are discourse. That flowing moves through you whether you
say anything or not. Everything that happens is filled with pleasure and
warmth because of the delight of the discourse that's always going on."

-- from Discourse 53

and to add my thanks to all for being paired up on this list with
friendship:

"When ink joins with a pen, then the blank paper
can say something. Rushes and reeds must be woven
to be useful as a mat. If they weren't interlaced,
the wind would blow them away.

Like that, God paired up
creatures, and gave them friendship."

-- from Of Being Woven

All the best,
Byrd
