I live near Penrith, in new South Wales, Australia. I teach at Katoomba
HS a coed secondary school (Years 7-12) of about 1100. I teach Languages,
mostly German and Italian now. I am the Leading Teacher (same level as
Deputy Principal) and have major responsibility for staff professional
development and curriculum. I've been teaching since 1974. I've taught
at five different high schools.

I have no formal T & D quals. although I've have a Masters in Ed. Admin.
I read widely and enjoy sharing information with others. I arrange and
recommend courses for staff inservice. Education in our state seems to
have been in state of restructuring since the ned of the 80s. The latest
round has seen a district structure introduced. Change management is a
critical skill at all levels.

I have had Internet access at home for about 5 months and I love it. I
have subscribed to about ten listservs and get numerous online
newsletters. I am an infoaddict and cyberjunkie. My husband fortunately
is a computer "guru" and he solves all our technical problems, although we
don't have many.

I have enjoyed the discussion so far. We too have been busy working out
how to implement the notion of schools as learning organisations.
