Administering the MBTI has been useful to me in GM and several
other organizations when combined with a discussion of outcome
management. NLP teaches you to 1) Know your outcome. 2) Have sufficient
sensory acuity to know when you're approaching your outcome. 3) Have
sufficient flexibility of behavior to be able to change your behavior to
reach your outcome. 4) Take action now.
I typically talk to the group about how they achieve outcomes,
then lead them into a discussion of desired outcomes from face to face
encounters. We then consider how different personality types key in on
different aspects of reality, and how we can craft our behaviors toward
different personalities to maximize our outcomes.
That sounds more complicated than I want it to be. Examples: If
I want to communicate effectively with a sensing judger (SJ), it may be
useful to talk in details presented in chronological order. In
communicating with an NT, one may have more success by focusing on the
big picture, with supporting logic. (Note: These examples are
temperament styles (Kiersey & Bates) rather than MBTI Types which would
include four dimensions.
Hope this helps. My office number is 317-646-3316 if you want to
talk about my designs. I should be in there Monday, most of the day.

"Type" only gives the group a common language and framework
within which to understand behaviors of each other that previously may
have been mysterious.
