I don't make any demands, Doug. I was simply commenting on the rapid,
adaptive learning required in survival situations. I've worked for
companies which were living on the edge. Through teaching and (hopefully)
leading by example, I've helped some to learn, at any rate to be aware of
the danger of the static culture which was causing problems. Others
nodded their heads in agreement and went back to status quo after I left.
You can guess the results.
I don't imply that learning cannot occur without a threat of nonexistence,
but I do know that it occurs rapidly when danger is perceived (although it
may not be the kind of learning most of here espouse).
