Well, one thing I've learned is that it's usually in business partner's
best interests to share business goals and to keep them measureable and
well defined. How to ensure goals are measurable and well defined is the
subject for another message.

Another thing I've learned is that dealing with friends on a business
basis is sort of a catch-22 double bind. Friends don't have to share ANY
goals except the goal of wanting the other friends to do well.

My friends don't share any of my business goals, it was just co-incidence
that their goals overlapped a bit with mine. It took some distancing to
figure out that they were very different.

So a question is, after the first step of setting measurable and well
defined goals, how to organize resources to implement those goals?

The answer? Advertise (how?) for partners with the same BUSINESS goals and
that have the resources needed and then qualify them to maximize the
perceived value of the ideas and goals and to make sure they can adapt to
a changing environment.

Thanks again for the honest assessment.
