Replying to LO4149 --

In "Organisational thinking LO4149," dsutherland@gc.net (Duncan
Sutherland) wrote about the rumblings at Herman Miller after Max DePree
had made it famous as a great place to work. I ran into a similar
situation after Tom Peters had made Hal Rosenbluth's travel agency famous
as a 'nice place' to work. Of course, we who worked there knew it to be a
lie, but Hal had to face up to how cruel it could be when he laid off a
good percentage of his employees.
