I think that one of our major problems in our world comes from the belief
that things, all things can be solved through science. There are many
events that take place on a daily basis that cannot be explained in a
"rational way" (through science?). We had a conversation a little while
ago about the Academy of Managment's search for unusual events, and I
expressed my dissappointment with the Academy. They can't see any unusual
events becuast they want everything to be proven and supported by data and
the scientific analysis of that data. There things of the spirit, things
that are related to hunched people have, or just "ideas" that can solve
problems too, but cannot be scientifixally tested. One of our major
problems, and one that helps explain why we miss so many interesting
things in life, is that for many of us what is not scientifically proven
"doesn't" exist!

I side with Mike when he refers to noise as the portion of information
that we must pay attention too! I believe that sometimes this noise might
convey the solution to some of the problems we deal with. Sometimes I am
very unconventional, unusual, weird because I follow the noise!

Ivan,
