On my way to placing the order, the proprietor told me the following
story, which seems to me to have a place in our practical knowledge of
disseminating knowledge through existing organizations. It seems that
MasterCo Press has a steady customer; every few months he calls up and
orders 2 of these and 5 of those, often repeating the same titles time
after time. After several orders of this, the owner asked him what his
selection criteria was for his orders. Apparently, this customer keeps a
bookshelf in his office, stocked with books that seem important for his
organization. Periodically, he takes inventory. When all his copies of a
particular title have been stolen, he orders more!
Have a pleasant weekend, all.
