When I see the expression "any effort to make the world a better
place..." I think that it is the recognition of the damage we have caused.
It is really saying let's clean up our mess! I don't think of it as
tampering with nature, but as correcting something we did wrong for
tampering with it. Even after saying all of this, I am not sure that we
should not be doing all the ecological damage that we cause. I am always
asking myself the question,... is it that we must tamper with nature to
then learn moer about it, and develop an understanding of it that would
eventually allow us to better preserve our world!
