Rol:

I appreciate your comments. It seems to me that there are many parallels
with spousal relations in this. The sort of collaboration that gives one
member enormous control over the other. While one spouse may take the
role of purchaser and housekeeper (although in my house we trade off), the
other takes the riskier work. Od course this *major* generalization is
rhetorical, I do know the word, spouse, derives from the Latin spondere
which means promise or promises. In this context, the promisors (?) are
responsible for the relationship and the events of day to day living.

In your company, I believe your meaning is one that presupposesleadership.
If I understand, you mean that the rewards of the company shpuld go to
those that take care of day to day activities that keep the company open
as well as the big scores. If so, I agree. So many times i hear of the
work ethic prevalent in entry level employees is of less quality than the
management perceives it should be. This affects delegation of duty. I
had a professor once who said, "Do not ruin a good business with good
management."

I always thought that meant pay attention to details and daily work.
Also, I think he meant to arrive at the doorstep of cooperation and
employee empowerment but with the watchful eye on the cash till and daily
routine. Anyway, it seems to me these are related.
