I published a brief article on my website which might have some useful
data for you about how much time is spent in meetings. You can access it
directly by going to
http://206.40.77.2/zine/DeKoven/meetings.html
I also actually produced a software product called the Meeting Meter(tm)
(available for downloading on my website at
http://california.com/meetings.htm
It's what I called "a taxi meter for meetings." Running in DOS or under
windows (though DOS-ishly), it takes the total of the hourly costs for a
meeting (salaries, rentals, on-line charges) and keeps a running total of
how much it costs, second-by-second. It's been one of the most notorious
of all my contributions to the welfare of personkind.
