Ah, such a marvelous story we are part of! As I read the note below from
Jim in response to Jackie, it occured to me that there might be a tendency
to set LAW apart from STORY as we see them. What if LAW is but one more
STORY in the process of being told? It has all of the requisite
parts--protagonists, antagonists, action, authority to be dealt with,
challenges to surmount, predictablility to a point, surprises when they
are least expected, battles of will and emotion, triumph and defeat, and,
of course, impermanence. For even the LAW can be, as in Kafka's parable,
available or not according to circumstances and perception....
