Hi- I'm currently working in the New South Wales Department of School
Education (Sydney, Australia) in the area of training and development. My
particular interests are leadership and management development, the
principalship, school-focussed training and development and the use of
technology in T & D.

We are currently promoting the concept of "Schools as Learning
Communities" across our system of 2200 schools.

I am interested in the application of Senge's five disciplines to the
school context. Also keen to explore the different concepts of
"organisation" and "community" and the relevance of each to school
practice. I suspect that for too long we have viewed schools as
organisations; hence the tension that is created when we attempt to apply
business models to schools.
