Replying to LO2813 --

Bernard's comments about Chirac being a prisoner of his own earlier
pontification reminded me about Michael McMaster's recent commentary about
a company whose leader felt that his supreme task was to teach philosophy
to the employees. The more I think about that the more I like it. With
2,500 years of literature, all dedicated to helping people think, one can
find many gems that have been slighted by educational establishments, but
which provide sterling guidelines to human beings to help them to achieve
in organizations.

Moreover, a leader is not likely to be trapped into doing stupid things
when taking advantage of the integrated best of 2,500 years of study.

Of course one must be very selective in the study of philosophers, and not
fall victim to the crazies in that community.
