Hi,

In mid-July, I asked a couple of Internet conferences if anyone knew
what courseware could be found on the Internet that related to
leadership/management development. Several people expressed interest in
a summary of the responses. Although I did get a couple of replies, they
pointed to descriptions of distance education courses, rather than to
courses that could be actually taken immediately via the Internet.

The request was made to assist with a post-graduate course that I took
at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) this summer.
The course was called "1514S: Internet Resources and Education", taught
by Bob McLean over the Internet. As a project within that course, I
developed a set of Web pages on the topic of "Internet Resources For
Leadership and Management Development", nicknamed "LeaderAid". That's
what prompted my question a few weeks ago, as I was building it.

My project includes suggestions from the responses to my request for
help, and can be accessed on the Web at . . .

http://www.oise.on.ca/~bwillard/leadaid.htm

The site contains:

1. Potential Scenarios in Leader/Manager Development: 3 possible
scenarios, plus a discussion of 6 generic online Internet facilities
that relate to leader/manager development, and a review of current
versus "future" Internet facilities in the scenarios.

2. Good Conferences For Facilitatators to Subscribe to: the Top 3
"Bob's Best Bets", plus several other good ones.

3. Useful Information Sources For Facilitators: the Top 5 "Bob's Best
Bets", plus about 15 other good ones.

4. Leadership and Management Courseware: none yet, but 7 sites where
courses will likely be found when available, plus sites to help you
write your own courses.

5. Useful Information Sources For Leaders/Managers: an encouragement
to browse and find your own.

6. Why Isn't There More Good Courseware on the Internet (For
Leadership/Management Development)?: 10 possible reasons.

It has about 30 linked pages, including about 100 hotlinks to external
sites on the Internet. It's a start ...

My thanks to those that relplied. You may see references to the sites
you recommended. I invite you all to check out my assessment of what's
out there on the Internet for facilitators and leaders/managers. Any
errors, omissions, or suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks.
