Hello Netters:

We are currently working on a research project entitled "Organizational
Learning in Municipial Social Administrations", sponsored by DFG (German
Scientific Fund). Thus, we are comparing the organizational learning
processes of 2 departments providing services for elderly people in 2
major German cities. We chose a qualitative research design by using
cognitive maps and network analysis methods. After two years of research,
we have already found some interesting results.

Entering the 2nd phase of this project, we will have a closer look at some
of the key players involved in organizational learning. Among others, we
are interested in the following research questions:

1.) What is the role of senior managers in the organization's
transformational process? (Does an empirical method exist to measure this
role?)

2.) What influence do senior managers have on the learning process and
learning success of their organization in general?

If you have any hints regarding methods, literature or similiar research
projects, please do not hesitate to contact us. Any help is appreciated.

If they are of general interest, we will post the responses on the net.
