Am beginning to appreciate that LO is subtle (as indeed is culture, but LO
may be used to change culture). The term LO is probably to be avoided
because of its connotations.

IMHO, for example, it might not be wise to set up 'Learning Teams' and
expect great things to happen ! They need to be strongly focussed.

Here is a Mental Model-in-use today :

Focus on helping a team to align around a shared vision [using LO
disciplines]. Develop the Creative versus the Reactive/Responsive
attitude.

To set up the Creative Tension necessary to achieve the vision, the tools
of Mental Models and Systems Thinking can be applied to Current Reality.
These may also be used to help solve a major problem that exists in a
company.

Together, the five disciplines are a very powerful set of tools to be
applied to solving current problems but most of all to creating the kinds
of future (and culture) we really want for ourselves and companies.

This is my MM-in-use currently as I go about my mission to help create LOs
in Ireland...which are innovative and can sustain long term competitive
advantage.

Thanks for allowing me to try out my *DRAFT* thoughts on you. As a
dedicated 'learner', I look forward to following this 'yellow brick
road'...there is no end...all markers greatly appreciated.
