Ann-Marie,

I believe it was in the writings of Fritz Perls, upon whose work Gestalt
Therapy was founded, that I first came across the STATEMENT, "Beware...
Questions are really just statements with a hooks at the end."

In keeping with that concept I have become increasingly inclined over the
years to look for the statement nestled within questions - particularly my
own - before secumbing to the otherwise natural inclination to cast them
outward as one would a lure in the hope of catching ready answers.

I might add that I also attempt whenever possible to assist - or challenge
- others to look for that kernal of a statement within their questions as
well, rather than simply repond with an answer. I say "whenever possible"
as it's somewhat uncommon to find individuals willing to "play", when it's
so much easier to take the word of a professional, an expert, the
majority, an authority, prevailing thought... the pill that stops the
pain.

In effect, I fully concur with you that the "Quest" inherent within the
Question is where the real value lies; and hope that you find my addendum
to your theme useful, as IMHO it is therein that the essence of individual
creativity resides.

BTW; this is my first Posting to learning-org, to which I have only
recently subscribed, and as a newbie I welcome any advise, critcism, or
otherwise helpful guidance.
