I have been reading the digest for a few weeks now and have found it to be
very interesting. I decided it was time to introduce myself.

My background is in a large corporation in the UK where I first saw the
need for learning organizations. Basically the need to stop 're-inventing
the wheel' and make better use of a vast amount of knowledge and
experience. I have recently changed job.

I am interested in the theory behind LOs and mechanisms for
implementation. In particular I have the following questions;

1. What can be learnt from the Japanese in this area?

2. Is there a need for a 'Knowledge Database' within an organization? Such
a database would point to previous experience, resources and to people who
may be able to help. Does anyone have experience of this?
