Further to LO1467.

I have had a number of interesting responses to my initial posting, thanks
to all those involved. Any further comments will be greatfully accepted.

Michael McMaster's comments (LO1495) are well noted. What is particularly
pleasing about his suggested approach is that will allow me to more fully
explore the implications of complexity and adaptive systems than my
previous formulation seemed to allow.

I am presenting a seminar paper to my university colleagues on Wednesday 7
June, and following this with a presentation to the industry in July.

I will give feedback to this group on these seminars in due course.

I have noted of this group that the discussion is mainly about general
issues of LO with perhaps less emphasis on particular cases. Moreover,
Environmental Management issues such as those addressed by my research are
not the norm. I am happy to contribute to the group from my research, but
am concerned that it might be mostly irrelevant in this forum.

The research topic is "An Investigation of Policy Processes for
Environmentally Sustainable Development in the Beef Feedlot Industry". The
research will be undertaken using a general Ecological Economics framework,
and will draw from the transdisciplinary areas of Institutional Economics,
Ecology, Systems Dynamics and Learning Organisations.
