Replying to LO1256 --

Ivan recommends to us using language (ie "souls") for what it evokes.

This reminds me of a case I heard about where the staff of a prison
was converted from the previous "guards" to a nursing staff - with
the nursing language kept intact. The results were reported to be
rather startling.

I'd prefer that it was teachers (maybe relatively unjaded
kindergarten teachers) where the language was one of learning. But
the point is interesting.

Or the case of British rail where they refer to passengers as "human
frieght" - and provided a matching service.
