It is not possible to "do nothing." Don't we just change what we do?
Laying in bed is not doing nothing...it's doing something different from
what we would otherwise do. Subscribing to the Taoist principles relating
to simplified living is one form of "doing." It seems no different in form
than if we were to say when we "are" nothing, we are "everything." "Are"
presupposes existence whereas "nothing" connotes non-existence. Matter and
anti-matter...I think this whole metaphor speaks to a different and deeper
understanding of what constitutes some sort of meaningful
lifestyle....elusive...but there...
