Replying to LO930 --

Descartes divided the world into the material and the non-material.
(This appraoch can be traced all the way back to early Greek
philosophers - who approached the same question in various ways.) We
have inherited a wonderful material wealth from that distinction. We
have also inherited an impoverished non-material world (to use
Descartes term). He said that each world had different methods of
dealing with them, different logics, and produced different results.

Maybe there is no genious who is beyond question. I prefer to think
that each of them has something to contribute to our thinking.

This is intended to address something more important - to me at least
- in the dialogue than the specifics of John Warfield's comments.
