Replying to LO750 --

My first response to Charlie Fleetham's question on introducing LO to a
company is: Wow! You have got some great prospect to get a question like
that back to your suggestion to think of LO as a product. Usually I start
by saying it's not a good idea to think of LO as a project or program, and
the prospect responds that they'd like to know how they can make it a
concrete product they can deliver to their (internal) customers!

While Charlie's analogy might be a good way to start a conversation in a
group meeting, I wonder if it might lead them to a programmatic approach
where they think LO is something that can be implemented through a project
that has a beginning and an end. I think of it as a process that changes
the way people work together.

Well, I haven't answered Charlie's question on how to communicate the LO
concept to a large organization, but perhaps some of the people from MIT's
OLC or people from the corporate members of the OLC can tell us how it
happened for them.
