I have been involved with LO concepts since about 1990 - before that OD
and org. change management - mostly in a public sector context. My
Australian Taxation Office experience is described in the "Fieldbook". I
am particularly interested in making contact with others working in public
sector environments.

I would like to share experience of practical tools which help to 'break
open' the mental models of senior executive teams - which appears to be an
essential step in getting the LO effort going. I have had considerable
success with use of MBTI as a system of mental models which can be
demonstrated and used as a resource. I am also working with aspects of
scenario thinking as a tool for surfacing models of the outside world.
What else works well?

A further interest is in identifying and modifying the structures in the
public sector which inhibit learning - one problem of course is that these
vary according to system of government (Australia operates on a modified
Westminster system).
