I am a new subscriber and have read many of the subject messages with
great interest over the past few days. This dialog is particularly helpful
to me as our organization is trying to take steps to transform our
traditional culture into a "learning" culture.

My current responsibilities cover a broad range of areas from planning and
marketing to new strategic product development for a statewide
hospital/healthcare organization. (Who we are and who we represent are
also in transition due to changes in the health care industry as a whole.)

In addition, I am serving as a consultant to another smaller association,
which is facing the need to think more systemically and on a larger scale,
though they hardly know it at this time. Part of my job -- as I see it --
is to help them to make this cognitive leap.

I trust that experiences shared here can be of value in assisting me and
my organization to make this change effectively. And I hope that some of
my learning in this process also can be shared.
