I have been lurking for some time now and a posting several days ago has
prompted me to send my first post.
I am a program evaluator at Nation 4-H Council, which is a private
non-profit youth serving organization located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. We
are currently in the process of transforming our organization and are
moving towards a learning organization model. Although I am fascinated
and challenged by the discussions of the epistomologies which shape the
development and behaviors of individuals and organizations, my current
inquiries are driven by my membership in a cross functional,
interdisciplinary team. The purpose of this team is to look systemically
at our organization in an effort to shape our transformation in such a way
as to support our new mission and values.
In LO471, Jean-Marie referred to an organization that is looking for
coaching and mentoring in their work in assessing organizational
competencies and knowledge and managing their intellectual capacity. In
our team's current efforts to redesign our performance and compensation
system, we are struggling with this very issue. Is anyone aware of any
books, articles or other resources out there that could help us think
through how we assess and develop our intellectual capacity?
Thanks!
