Regarding "critiques" of MINDWALK, LO#455...

Last semester I showed MINDWALK to the students in my graduate
MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS class. The student's opinions of the film were both
strong and polarized. One outspoken aeronautical engineer blurted out, at
the end..."Bad science, bad acting!, Can't compare to My Dinner with
Andre". Another equally bright exchange student from Germany replied,
"One of the best fils I have ever seen". The tension in the room mounted
as students began to take sides. The film had run over the ending time
for class, so most of the students left to head home. There is no doubt
in my mind that this film evoked a strong emotional response from a wide
variety of students. Whether the strong response can be attributed to the
acting, the script, or the theoretical content is not clear to me. It
would seem, however, to be a perfect piece for setting up a debate/
discussion of the positions presented in the film.
