Responding to some of my comments, Mike McMaster says: "I look to the idea
of practices as establishing the regular actions that educate and develop
oneself and that are designed to have implications beyond themselves (ie.
to communicate a change is occurring) as well as beginning to develop what
will be needed in the new structures and ways of operating. This is not a
small task."
>From other things in your remarks, Mike, it's clear to me that we have
differing meanings when we speak of "power" whether in organizations or not.
Your thoughtful comments have enriched my understanding of some of my own
ideas, and in particular, the preceding quote exactly captures what i had in
mind and very neatly distinguishes practices from "behaviors". Thank you.
