Oh yes! Finally some comments on the worthlessnes of so many of the
"fad" books of the last few decades, especially the last ten years. Isn't it
funny that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
The few theories of any merit will remain. Unfortunately, the damage of
the hype that Peters, Hammer, Champy, et.al. bring to the world of
management through their "books" stay around just long enough to do
damage. Damage to the advances made to systems and organizations
that have been gained by using the sound advice of our time- tested
theorists and practitioners. Then abolished through the bastardization of
the theories from the authors mentioned above. Maybe these books
should come with some kind of warning label.
