Our experience is different.

We had a small client request a unique twist on the organizational
assessment service we provide. At first we did not think much of it...but
the significance soon hit us. Now, I can safely say the 1/3 of our
business is based on what we learned and adjusted from this little piece
of feedback.

We are not completely 'transformed' [according to Con's definition above]
because of this 'flapping', but we are definitely more successful AND much
more open to learning and seeking feedback from a variety of diverse
sources.
