Two books which might give you more to go on are:

Sculpting the Learning Organisation by Watkins and Marsick (1993) Jossey-Bass

and

The Learning Company by Pedler, Burgoyne and Boydell (1991) McGraw-Hill.

I have found both books easy to read, and in many ways (at least to my
mind), more practical and applicable than The Fifth Discipline.
