I want to add my agreement to the idea proposed by Ivan Blanco and
replyed to by Cavaler that democratic forms of organizational goverance
and organizational learning are intertwinned. As long as we stay with a
traditional model of learning in which an expert (whether in the form of
a book or lecturer) provides knowledge which others are obliged to accept
- democratic forms are not critical. However, when we begin to ask
employees to uncover their assumptions, to think outside the box and to
engage with others in making sense of their experience - then we will
require a more egalitarian environment.
