gray skies

January 2, 2004

Freezing drizzle has got to be the most annoying weather event. You don't really see it forming, it just covers everything with a thin, invisible, slippery crust. It formed a crust on my windshield, on the walk, on the dusting of snow that accumulated early this morning. I think it even froze on my hair as I scraped the windshield. The snow is kind of pretty. The ice is invisible, not that gorgeous but damaging thick ice that coats the trees when you get freezing rain, just invisible. This was not how I imagined a forecast of snow flurries followed by rain showers.

With the Bakery Deli Cafe closed for the day after the holiday, I once again did the physical therapy before coffee thing. I was so zombie-like that nothing bothered me. And, much to my surprise, I actually lifted my arm above my head for the first time. Look out burned out overhead light fixtures, here I come to change the bulbs. Maybe.
