Yes, it really happened. Kate
and Bruce got married. Yes, I really wore that tux she
always wanted to see me in.
I had a brief moment of panic
yesterday when I went to pick up the tux and discovered
the pants didn't fit, but the tux place went into
overdrive and got me different pants and suspenders by
this morning. I even had time after picking up the tux
this morning to stop by Learning Express to see if I
could find a Lego bride and groom for the cake. With the
20% off Lego sale still going on, the pickings were lean
and unless I wanted robots or Harry Potter I was out of
luck. A helpful clerk suggested Playmobil and I found the
most wonderful prince and princess who would fit
perfectly into the Lego vehicle for the cake
topper.
I had a brief moment of panic this
afternoon when I was waiting for Nancy at the intermodal
transportation center (aka bus/train station) down the
street from the Textile Museum where the wedding was. My
cellphone rang and it was Nancy announcing that the bus
had not shown up at South Station and that the bus
company was telling her it would be at least another
hour. She decided to go back to Providence instead of
attending the wedding. Grrr. Thank you, Vermont Transit
for messing up my day. But I got over it.
The wedding was fabulous! Lego on
every table! Family! Friends! Joy! Lego! Love! Food!
Music! Lego!
The rabbi made a big point of
mentioning that the bride and groom were getting married
in the presence of Lego.
Perhaps I will provide a fuller
account later after my rotator cuff surgery as I have
things to do, people to see, vets to yell at, and miles
to go before they slice my arm up.
