Reebok is behaving himself
for once. He's intently watching the volunteers clean the
cages and not harassing the other cats. Neptune jumped up
next to the sink to head butt me. Either he thinks this
will result in more wet food for him or he's really
trying to help with the dishes. Stallone sidled up to me
and let me pet him but did not get in my lap. Toby leaps
higher after the cat dancer than any cat I've ever seen.
Winston talks a blue streak in that Siamese way of his.
In short a normal, peaceable cat day
Suddenly Dawna demands 4 double-A
batteries right now. What kind of emergency requires 4
double-A batteries immediately? Oh, the meowing clock not
meowing is an emergency? How can you even tell the clock
isn't meowing with all the meowing going on around
here?
Somehow the dishes are done, I've
eaten lunch, I've savored a large French roast coffee
from Middle Street Foods, I've seen what few birds are
visible from the car in the still tundra-like refuge, and
I'm home almost before the snow starts. I'm cooking an
early dinner when in a remarkably similar pattern to last
week's storm, the snow intensifies to the point of almost
white out conditions. I turn on the news just in time for
the weather. The weatherman is saying the Merrimack
Valley is getting some kind of intensified back door
rebound kind of thing. Once again I cancel plans for the
evening, settle in with homemade soup, read more Lafcadio
Hearn, and admit to myself that I am finally tired of
snow.
