This Year's Reading
2002 Book List

Weather: alternating between winter and spring

Traffic: weird but I was only 10 minutes late for an appointment. That's good for a 495 traffic event.

Coffee: The coffee at Starship Startup still tastes like pencil-shavings, but I have discovered a bakery/cafe a short drive from Starship Startup that serves espresso drinks, and brews a good French roast as their coffee of the day once in awhile, today for example.

Birds: A huge flock of dark-eyed juncos flew past the window near my cubicle. This is remarkable because the only birds I have seen from that window in 6 months are gulls circling over the huge dirt mound, and crows flying to their night roosts.

Books: No time to read for pleasure. No time to read for business either. As for writing: am struggling mightily to figure out an approach that makes any sense at all to this huge technology area. If I were writing this for software developers who were going to implement the technology, the scope, purpose, organization, approach, and so on would be immediately obvious. But here I am trying to write for the eventual adopters of this once it's implemented and trying to convince them it's going to rock their world but not disrupt their routines. Sigh.

Cats: Wilbur hates it when I work late. Actually, he hates it when I go to work at all. And in late-breaking news, that was Dolly who was behind the dryer and Katherine the Great who was adopted out to the guy who thought he was adopting Dolly. At least he and Katherine the Great like each other. He'll never know she's not Dolly. And Sandy's adopters have been heard from, so we know he hasn't eaten them in their sleep mistaking them for donuts.

Socket of Electricity: You had to be there.
