Easter colors: the kids' dresses, the crocuses in La Madre's yard, the forsythia, those blue things next to the drain pipe, even the grass is almost green. Asparagus, sweet potatoes, fresh green beans... The kids hunting for Smarties and Nerds hidden in plain sight. Kevin's favorite marshmallow eggs from Something Sweet. Andrea reading aloud in Hungarian... wait that requires explanation... The book arrived on Friday. I couldn't resist showing it off to the family especially since the kids want to know how it is we collect trees. Andrea was fascinated with finding words she recognized, like Macedonia and Bosnia (yes the famous Serbian spruce is in there), and reading aloud to Aunt Sistah while trying to pronounce the Hungarian words. So, I still don't get to hand out SFOR coffee mugs, land mine warning signs, or moose wearing "Somebody in Bosnia Loves Me" T-shirts, but at least Conifers Round the World is colorful to look at. And the Red Sox won, too.
