I'm back. Delta got me here only about 2+ hours later than my American flight was scheduled for, but just enough later that I didn't get to bed until 1:00AM. It was a great trip!

I interviewed at Fidelity this morning for their "metrics visionary" position and it was a TOTAL mismatch. They are really into function points (see Capers Jones' latest book Applied Software Measurement), which I think are not worth the cost to implement. I was too much into the technical side of measurement and quality and not enough into the business side for them. I didn't like the whole MIS atmosphere -- too stuffy for me, even though it would be a good place to wear all my great business suits. Not the job for me. Too bad I didn't know that before I got up at 6:00 and drove to Boston. Sigh. Heck, it was worth talking to them to find out the direction I don't want to go.
