I was sorting through the piles of stuff on my desk today and came across this clipping Tom gave me about the Young Explorers' trek in Antarctica

The clipping got a little dogeared and torn but I read it and visited the site listed.

Pretty cool.

The youths themselves are keeping an online diary of the trek.

Robert Swan was supposed to be keeping a diary too but it didn't appear to be there. Swan is the guy who retraced Robert Falcon Scott's expedition: Footsteps of Scott. In Antarctic Navigation, Elizabeth Arthur chronicles a fictional recreation of Scott's expedition. I read that this spring.

I think these kids are pretty brave to do this. Wish I was young enough to join them!
