It's hot. Hot. Hot. I felt wilted after a 25 minute walk with the walking buddies.

Nancy and I went to see The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg. I was surprised at how good it was. Lots of archival footage of great moments in Detroit Tigers history with Hankus-Pankus hitting 'em out. Good soundtrack too, except I can't get that song "Goodbye, Mister Ball, goodbye..." out of my head.

Thoreau secret decoder ring entries:

huckleberry bird
field sparrow
pomace (in a sentence about apples)
Apple pomace is the pressed-cake residual left from making commercial grade apple juice or other apple products. It's used as animal feed and Cornell is researching it as an alternative fuel.
