A Wolf's Den

I'm starting to write more, you can find me on LiveJournal.

Constant battle with severe health issues (well, severe for me) have forced some realizations about having to take care of me, learning to rely more on myself and figuring out who I can really trust.

The saddest and often most painful thing is growing away from people, and how sharply it hurts to know that I can no longer see thru their eyes, and they have no interest in seeing thru mine. The upside is I'm growing, learning and extremely happy.

Keep an eye on this area for Motorcycle thoughts and trip reports.

Life is going well. Better then one might think.

But the roads out here are gorgeous. I live very near the Angeles Crest Highway, where I spend a lot of time with my Triumph Daytona T595, Huckleberry Hound, riding up to Newcomb's Ranch. Huckleberry is a custom bike, the t595 fairing stripped to make it look like a Speed Triple, but with 120 hp at the rear wheel, its a quiet monster.

<-- that's me!

I dont think my mother is particularly happy with the fact that I ride, but I do love it so much - its a lot like playing the violin in terms of the control and passion needed to do it right and well.

That's another thing I've taken up again, playing the violin. I've got very little funk and blues in my soul, but I'm pulling it out and taking lessons at: Silverlake Music Conservatory

Silly, but I adopted a virtual monkey.

my pet!

Check out this poem I found, by Rumi

I've always like poetry, never outgrew that highschoolish thing to keep writing.

The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ring'd with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson

So, what happened to that incredible wolf picture on my page? Turns out it was copywritten material. So I deleted the image, and linked to the owners page for your pleasure.

So, I love to ski as well and after a 5 year hiatus, I started again. So now I need a new helmet. What DOES it say that most of the things I like to do require helmets?
I dont write much about skiing, except I've had some nearly perfect days on the slopes. I went again this past March for a week in Utah, and pretty much enjoyed every minute. One problem with living here in CA is that since the weather is so nice so often, I dont WRITE as much, since I'm busy out and doing. January, 1999, I went to the SlamDance Film Festival and skiied and had other misadventures.
