I got some photos back from Newtonville Camera today, but it'll be a few days before I can organize any of them on the site. Except this one.

Me in my favorite new shirt. Well, maybe the one from the marimekko fabric I brought back from Helsinki is even more favorite. It's a tough call.

me, in African fabric shirt

I got that fabric at a yard sale in Arlington a couple of years ago and made the shirt at the end of last summer. Fortunately the weather stayed warm through October so I had several chances to wear it before the winter. I didn't do too shabby a job of matching the pattern on the front, and I challenge you to find the pocket. There's a pen and pencil in the pocket just so you know there is one.

I tried to keep my eyes open while Arlene took that picture, honest I did. It just never works. That's the neighbors' car and house in the background. Hey, cool! At this low resolution, it doesn't take any Photoshop magic to hide the salt and pepper in my beard.

Ooh! I just took my first rhubarb pie of the season out of the oven. I made a beautiful woven lattice top on it, but I won't scan it in, you'll have to take my word for it.

(slightly later) it tastes great, too.
