Today is my birthday. The arithmetic is left as an exercise to the student: 2000 - 1944. I think it's journaller Mike Rawdon's birthday, too (yup, just checked his entry from a year ago). Happy birthday, Mike. He's from Newton and his mother is a co-worker of Arlene's.

Any questions why I have so much admiration for Janet Egan's wildlife photography? It ain't easy.
Actually, I think I'm going to do an eraser carving of that heron. The picture is grainy, but I really like the way the near wing is bent, and the neck and legs.
