Poland did have aces during WW2 - though none served in the Polskie Lotnictwo Wojskowe as aces. Polands first ace, Lt. Gnys started compiling his kills on September 1, 1939. Gnys was serving near Warsaw when his III/2 Dyon was alerted to a large air raid heading their way and was scrambled. The following two scenarios show his first foray into action:
Background:: Gnys was wingman to his squadron leader. Immediately on take off, they were attacked by three Stukas, who shot down the squadron leader (the first Axis air to air victory of the war, BTW). Gnys shot one down, the first allied aerial victory of WW2.
