Local TravelBoston has an excellent public transportation system, and you can easily get anywhere you need to via subway or bus. The station you'll want for purposes of this wedding is Central Square, on the Red Line of the subway and eight different bus lines. Parking in Cambridge can be scarce, expensive, or both, and it's been a priority in our planning to make everything as walkable as possible. The Central Square T stop is under half a mile from the shul and just down the street from the hotel/reception site. There are maps on the Ceremony and Reception pages, and further directions on the shul and hotel websites, as well as enclosed with your wedding invitation. (Conversely, we know that weather can be a factor in the transportation plans of even the most diehard walkers and bikers. Of course, we are hoping for clear skies, low humidity, and balmy 70-degree weather... but, this being New England, all we can do is pray for clemency, and watch the forecast with great interest as the time draws nearer.) If you need or prefer to drive, please be aware that parking on Tremont Street tends to be scarce (although resident permit restrictions are not in effect on Sundays). There is additional metered parking on Broadway, on Norfolk Street along the park, on Hampshire Street, and in public parking lots off Massachusetts Avenue and at Kendall Square, as well as a garage on Green Street just down from the hotel.
Travel from Distant LandsWe especially look forward to seeing the friends and family who will be traveling to Boston for our wedding! HotelWe have arranged a wedding block rate of $160 per night at the Le Meridien Cambridge hotel, where the reception will be held. Reservations must be made by 5pm EDT on July 29 to get the special rate. You can book online using this link. (Ignore the obvious misinformation like the ceremony time and location. You are cordially invited to the wedding of Werfel-Schultz Wedding!) We've heard intermittent reports of trouble with the link; if it doesn't work when you try it, OR if you have any trouble reserving the room type or dates you want, please let us know. Getting to BostonThe closest airport is Boston's Logan International Airport (BOS). Other regional airports include Manchester, NH (MHT) and T.F. Green (PVD) in Providence, RI; both offer shuttle bus service into metro Boston. Boston is also well served by train and bus routes, which arrive into South Station; from there, it's a short ride on the MBTA Red Line to Central Square, Cambridge. |
